Day 12: Roanne to Lyon

Good evening live from Paul Bocuse.

What an amazing day. We just had a little champagne in the kitchen with Paul Bocuse himself.

After eating at Paul Bocuse for many years, my dad is friends with the second in command, and he allowed us to spend some time in the kitchen.

Today we had a lovely bike ride through Roanne. The weather wad twenty degrees cooler than any other day so far, making the ride significantly more enjoyable.

Day 11: Saint bonnet le Froid to Roanne

Good evening.

After a wonderful evening sleep we drove two hours to Roanne (although somebody didn't want to take the pay road).

After a bistro lunch and nap, we went on a three hour biking expedition in brutally hot temperature (35 c).

We road in primarily rural roads, and it took some navigational fortitude to get us back to Roanne.

Day 9: Laguiole to Valance

Good evening.

I am writing this post live from dinner, while Today we had a beautiful bike ride in and around Laguiole. We biked in massive winds! 30+ mph and 2,000 ft. However, without bags, today seemed like a walk in the park.

But, we had a tantalizing five hour drive around mountainous terrain and innumerable switchbacks to arrive to Valence. Especially with Dad driving an automatic, it made for an interesting day.
